The rose last week was to recognize the new addition to the Daniels’ family.  Chad and Sacha are the proud parents of Maxwell Tomas Daniels who arrived at 7:19 p.m. Monday, January 23, weighing in at 8 lb. 6 oz. and 21" long!  Proud grandparents are Dave and Marty Daniels and great grandparents are Jim & Naomi Daniels and George & Joan Sheen.

How May FIRST BAPTIST Help You?
"At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so in turn their plenty will supply what you need." 2 Cor 8:14 niv

In an effort to reach out to those who may need help with the cares and concerns of life, but do not know where to go for assistance, we are offering a means to discreetly provide the needed help.  There are many in our congregation who have the time, talent, resources, knowledge and contacts to provide the help that is needed.

Who among us here would refuse to offer help if it were asked for?  In the same way to not ask for help deprives the church family the opportunity to respond and use our gifts as God has commanded.

In the pew rack, you will find a Help Request & Praise card. Use this card to indicate your need or praise, and place it in the locked box found in the narthex.  The Pastor (only he) has access to this box and will review these requests/praises each week and guide your request to someone who can best  find the help you need.  Be assured that all will be kept confidential!

Please let us help as we seek to share the love of Christ with those in need.

The rose bud on the altar announces the birth of Theo Amar Lee Weatherspoon, born to Nikki Welsh and Blaze Weatherspoon, on January 31.  Great Grandmother is Shirley Welsh.  Congratulations!

Pslam 111
Praise the LORD.
I will extol the LORD with all my heart
in the council of the upright and in the assembly.
Great are the works of the LORD;
they are pondered by all who delight in them.
Glorious and majestic are His deeds,
and His righteousness endures forever.
He has caused His wonders to be remembered;
the LORD is gracious and compassionate.
He provides food for those who fear him;
He remembers His covenant forever.
He has shown His people the power of His works,
giving them the lands of other nations.
The works of his hands are faithful and just;
all his precepts are trustworthy.
They are established forever and ever,
enacted in faithfulness and uprightness.
He provided redemption for His people;
He ordained His covenant forever –
holy and awesome is His name.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom;
all who follow His precepts have good understanding.
To Him belongs eternal praise.

MEMORY VERSE OF THE MONTH
But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord.  Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.  But do this with gentleness and respect.

The annual Sno Bowl will be held at the Mahoning Valley Lanes in Youngstown on Sunday, Feb. 19.  This benefits Neighborhood Ministries after school program.  If you want to participate, see Judy Douglas for registration.

Kitchen restroom renovation loan update: September 2008, we borrowed $150,000 that was scheduled to be paid of September 2015.  We have been able to make several extra payments.  Our present balance is $53,020.74 and will be paid off in March of 2014, 18 months ahead of schedule.  As First Baptist Church continues to grow, your faithful commitment on this helps to indicate a positive future for our church.  THANK YOU !!
